This unique Mercedes-Benz 630K, bearing chassis number 32019, features a short chassis and a convertible body. Under the hood lies the Type 630 supercharged engine, number 60434. According to factory records, the car was delivered to British Mercedes-Benz, Ltd. in London on April 13, 1927.
The identity of the first owner is unknown, but we know the car was delivered to the renowned firm Thomas Harrington Ltd. in Brighton, where it received the sporty four-seater drophead coupé bodywork that remains on the chassis today.
The car survived the war years and was owned by several prominent British collectors in the years that followed.
It was owned by a certain A.B. Kensington until 1953; according to notes made by the founder and then-president of the English Mercedes-Benz Club—who inspected the car while it was laid up in Weybridge on July 25, 1953—parts were missing at the time, and its condition was described as dilapidated.

The details that follow are somewhat contradictory: the car is recorded as having been sold on November 29, 1953, to a Mr. D.E. Howard of London W1, who had it towed to his home.
However, the website of the Audrain Automobile Museum in Newport, Rhode Island, indicates that the car—clearly restored—participated in the Mercedes-Benz Club of London’s Concours d’Elegance on July 7, 1953, with D.E. Howard at the wheel, and won the award for best car in its class.
There is no further record of the car after 1953 until 1970, when it was owned by a Mr. W. Morley, residing in Baldock, Hertfordshire, north of London.
The 630K Sport Cabriolet Harrington was offered for sale by the London dealer Mike Carter Sales Ltd. at the 16th auction held on June 9, 1978, at Alexandra Palace, where it was sold to a bidder based in Thailand. Upon its subsequent shipment to Bangkok, it was immediately seized by customs and placed in storage.
A wealthy Thai industrialist and collector, Mr. Kobsak Chinawongwatana, leveraged his connections with the Thai government in the 1980s to secure and acquire the car from the customs warehouse. It remained in the family's possession for nearly twenty years.

A sales advertisement appeared in the July 1994 issue of the British publication Motor Sport Magazine, placed by Preston, Lancashire-based classic car dealer William Loughran; the ad featured a color photograph of the car and noted that the 630K Harrington had undergone a complete restoration over a period of two to three years, with the price available upon request.
Issue No. 3 (2002) of Kienzle-Reisen featured a photo-illustrated report on a car that remained in Thailand until 2003, detailing a trip to Bangkok in April 2002 by renowned car restorer Klaus Kienle and his son Alexander. They had traveled there at the invitation of Kobsak Chinawongwatana to inspect the Mercedes-Benz 630K Harrington.
They found the car to be largely complete but in a state of total wear and disrepair. Nothing was functional, and a full restoration was required; consequently, Mr. Chinawongwatana turned to Kienle Automobiltechnik GmbH in Ditzingen.
Following its restoration, the car served as the centerpiece of a temporary classic car exhibition at Seacon Square, one of Bangkok's major shopping malls.

Subsequently purchased by the "Symbolic Motor Car Company" in the late 2000s, the car was imported to the United States. After being refurbished by the
Mercedes-Benz Classic Center, it was offered for sale.
In 2009, the car was part of the "Blackhawk Collection" in Danville, California.
At the Pebble Beach auction on August 16, 2009, Gooding & Company estimated the car's value at between $600,000 and $800,000, but it remained unsold.
In 2010, the car was put up for sale again, this time at the "Exceptional Motorcars and Automobilia" auction presented by Bonhams. The estimated sale price was $450,000 to $550,000.
The car again remained unsold, failing to reach the reserve price.
At the 43rd annual Scottsdale auction in early January 2014, the Harrington-bodied 630K was offered once more by Barrett-Jackson; this time it sold for $715,000 to Nicholas Schorsch of Newport, Rhode Island, owner of the Audrain Museum.
On August 17, 2017, the black 630K participated in the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance in California, entered by the Audrain Museum and driven by Nicholas Schorsch.

It subsequently underwent another restoration, during which traces of the original green paint were reportedly discovered on the car.
The 630 K Harrington Coupé was therefore repainted in that same shade of green. The red seats and interior were reupholstered in dark green leather to match the bodywork.
While the chrome hubcaps were retained, all chrome moldings and trim were removed.
A new soft top was also installed; the original black was replaced by a dark beige to harmonize with the car's new green paintwork.
This is the form in which the 630K Convertible Coupé appeared at the 2024 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.
As of 2025, this Harrington-bodied 630K Sport Tourer remains in the Audrain Museum's collection, though it is not currently on display.
